Fire in Santa Cruz

An early Monday morning fire in Santa Cruz Village destroyed a small wooden home. According to Police, Belizean Security Guard Edward Mendez reported that around 5pm on Sunday evening he left the house and headed to work in Placencia Village. At around 1:00 am the next morning, Mendez received information that the small wooden structure which he is the care taker of was fully engulfed in flames. The house and its contents were completely destroyed by the fire.  Police said that the house was not insured and the cause of the fire has not yet being ascertained.  Their investigation continues.
