It’s a new year, and as is tradition at the nation’s largest public hospital, there is a celebration of new life. The first baby born on New Year’s Day at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in Belize City today received a gift package from Santiago Castillo Group of Companies. According to marketing manager, Aisha Trapp-Rudon, the celebration will not stop there, however.
“Today, we continue our tradition, being a good corporate citizen. We’ve given mommy and daddy a set of Huggies wipes and diapers, Seven Seas for revitalization and of course Ovaltine to help her with her breast milk. I am proud to say that we have done this countrywide. So, if you had a baby in Corozal, you got a package in Orange Walk, Dangriga and we want to extend this same thing to PG. If there is a baby in PG that was born for the new year, we want to give that baby his or her package. So, we’d like for them to get in contact with me at San Cas and we will get the package for that baby”.
The presentation will also be extended to San Pedro Town and the island polyclinic. Also on hand was Hospital CEO Dr. Gary Longsworth.
“It’s a great tradition. I think people look forward to it. It makes good news; it lifts your spirit to know that life goes on, there is new life…things like that; it’s a good occasion”.
