First Suspect of Free Zone Robbery Arrested and Charged

vlcsnap-2014-02-26-07h17m29s242Police have made an arrest in the case of the Corozal Free Zone robbery of hundreds of thousands of dollars,  which took place on Monday.

No one has been charged for the actual robbery but 21-year-old Benigno Loria, a Belizean Laborer of San Andres Village, Corozal District, has been charged for the crime of “Conspiracy to Commit Robbery”.

The robbery occurred on  Monday the 24th February, when 48 year old Ricardo Villasenor, a Mexican businessman, was taking two black plastic bags to his car.

Those plastic bags had in over one million pesos or over two hundred thousand Belize dollars.  There were two culprits; one with a knife and the other with a hammer.

After taking the money, the robbers pushed Villasenor into the trunk of the car.  Police had said the incident was caught on surveillance camera.
