Four detained for drug trafficking in Corozal

Corozal police have detained four persons to be charged for drug trafficking. On Monday evening, just before 4:30., police were conducting mobile patrol in Corozal Town and followed a green Toyota Corola taxi . According to police reports,  they saw two male persons exit the taxi at a restaurant. The taxi then left the area and parked at 8th Avenue where police conducted a search of the vehicle. In the taxi at the time of the search were Marlon Beltran, Belizean Taxi Driver of San Antonio Village, Corozal District and 29-year-old Gino Ayuso, Belizean sales clerk of Paraiso Village. The search led to the discovery of a school bag which contained 1,308 grams of cannabis. Also in the backpack was a temporary border permit belonging to 22-year-old Moses Puck, Belizean labourer of Paraiso Village. Police have since detained Moses Puck and Rutilio Artiga, Belizean security of Paraiso Village. All four male persons were detained pending charges of Drug Trafficking.
