Gas station robbers arraigned and remanded

Yesterday we told you about the arrests made by police in the robbery attempt at CP Gas station in Belize City. At today’s police media briefing,  Inspector Wilfredo Ferrufino gave us an update. 

Wilfredo Ferrufino, Police NCIB: On the 30th of July, sometime around 10am, police were called to the CP Gas Station at one and half mile on the Philip Goldson Highway. There they spoke to the manager of the gas station, Mr. Nelson Rancharan, a 40 year old resident of Belize City. He reported that whilst entering his CP Gas Station, he was accosted by two male persons, one of whom was armed with a firearm. Whilst inside the building, a struggle ensued between him and both persons. The culprits made their escape through the front door, damaging the glass window and the glass door of the gas station. On leaving the building, Mr. Rancharan received injuries to his forehead and nothing was stolen. Two persons were detained, One Kyle Perez a 19 year old of #2859 Corozal Street and Tyrique Swaso a 20 year old of #5 Iguana Street. They were both charged on Wednesday the 1st, they were both charged jointly for attempted robbery and wounding and Mr. Swaso was additionally charged with damage to property.

Both Perez and Swaso  were arraigned yesterday and both remanded.
