There was a robbery at Gas Tomza Depot in the Maya Mopan Area of Belmopan last night. A 22 year old man was at work at the gas depot sometime around 9:30 p.m. when he was held up at knife point by 2 persons. According to reports, the man was as about to close up the office when he went outside. That is when the two individuals forced him back into the office and placed duct tape on his hands and feet. They searched the office and found over a thousand dollars. During the robbery, the employee was punched in the neck and told to stay on the floor. After the men left, he managed to unbound himself and called the police. Reports to Plusnews are that though police were called right after the robbery happened, they did not show up at the place of business until 9 o’clock this morning. When we checked with Belmopan police this evening for an update on the investigation, we were told that no robbery was reported.
