Guatemala plans to put new map in passports

vlcsnap-2013-04-02-20h54m15s75It may have seemed that things had cooled down after a map depicting Belize as a part of Guatemala was being circulated by Guatemala in various outlets, but there may just be a greater circulation of the map, or one similar to it, in the near future. This is because Guatemala’s ministry of the interior, is in planning on including the map on passports for the next ten years. According to the Prensa Libre, the ministry is currently seeking out a company that would provide service for the issuance of the passports, which would total to about four million copies of the document. The online newsprint reports that the travel document would include “the map of Central America on the cover [that] will consider the dispute between Guatemala and Belize.
