Guatemalan caught smuggling weed at Belizean border

On Tuesday October 21st at 6:30a.m. while on duty at the Belize/Guatemala Border, Benque Viejo Town, Police saw an Hispanic man, who at the time was coming from Guatemala into Belize.  Police observed that both of his pants foot area were bulky.

A search conducted on the person resulted in the discovery of two black plastic bags wrapped on both legs with transparent tape, containing green leafy substance suspected to be cannabis. Further searches conducted on him revealed an additional black plastic bag of weed strapped to his stomach area.

The individual was informed of the offence committed, placed under arrest & escorted to the Benque Viejo Police Station, along with the Drugs.

At the station the man was identified as 20-year-old Marvin Estuardo Godoy Linares, a Guatemalan laborer of Barrio la Ceibita, Melchor, Guatemala.

All three parcels were weighed which amounted to 1,904 Grams.

Marvin Linares was subsequently charged for drug trafficking.
