Guatemalan Caught With Mayan Jade Artefact.

Orange Walk Police detained one man of Guatemalan Nationality, pending charges for the illegal possession of a Maya jade artefact. The artefact is suspected to be Maya ceremonial chain with a jade pendant typical worn by the High priests of the ancient Maya. The artefact measures about 4 inches by 3 inches. Up until news time police had not levied any charges because they are still waiting for the archaeology department to confirm if the chain is indeed made out of the precious Jade stone, which is illegal to possess without a proper license. The Jade looking artefact is not suspected to be of Belizean Origin. Police suspect that the Guatemalan National ,currently in police custody and pending charges, brought it with him across the border from Guatemala. Police continue investigations.
