Reports reaching PlusNews are that yesterday, upon Vertus’ arrival into Belize via the PGIA, he was escorted to the Immigration office for a private interrogation.
An inspection was made to his Haitian passport, which revealed that it continued a forged visa. Further checks were then made in Belmopan which confirmed that the visa was indeed a counterfeit and that it was not printed in Belize. No removal order was asked for by Immigration Department for Vertus removal as is the norm. The visa #V00076309 was issued on December 11, 2013 and would have expired on March 11, 2014. Today, Vertus was fined $1,000 plus a $5.00 cost of court. In court, Vertus told the Magistrate that he paid someone $150 in US Currency for the visa.
