According to reports, police were called to the residence of Superintendent Alvarez, where he complained of pains to his body.
Alvarez was taken to the Independence Poly Clinic where he was attended to and an hour later discharged.
However on his way back home he started complaining of being short of breathe.
He was immediately taken back to the polyclinic where they fruitlessly tried to resuscitate him.
Supt. Alvarez was pronounced dead at 11:00 pm on Friday, May 2nd.
The body was transported to the Southern Regional Hospital Morgue and later transported to the KHMH where it now awaits an autopsy. The Police Department sends its condolences to the family and friends of the late Alton Alvarez.
