On Tuesday night we told you about the defendant summons that were handed out to some 20 persons in connection to the August highway block that took place in Succotz Village in the Cayo district.
On Wednesday we got a copy of the summons for those accused of rioting to appear in court on Thursday November 13.
Many villagers had blocked the highway demanding that Deputy Commissioner Miguel Segura be charged, after he killed a woman and injured a man in a traffic accident while driving with alcohol levels above the prescribed limit.
Miguel Segura was charged, but his day in court has not arrived as yet.
However, those who blocked the highway and burned a tire in the middle of the road in demanding justice will have to appear in court on Thursday at 9 a.m. They will be charged according to Section 229 of the Criminal Code, Chapter 101 of the Laws of Belize for closing down the George Price highway between miles 72 and 73.
