Hit and Run in Corozal Leaves one man critical

A hit and run incident in the Northern District of Corozal has left one man in the hospital in a critical condition.

According to reports, at around 9:10 am on Thursday February 19th, Davor Mattu was riding his bicycle on the road somewhere between the villages of Pachacan and Cristo Rey, when he was hit from behind by a grey SUV bearing green license plates. Davor Mattu, a 16 year old resident of Patchakan Village,  was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in Belize City, suffering from severe head injuries, a broken foot and a broken hand. He was enlisted at the hospital in a critical condition.

Police are asking the public’s assistance in locating the vehicle described as grey with black stripes and a green taxi license plates.

Corozal police continue investigations.
