There was a home invasion in Camalote Village, Cayo District this morning . The home invaded is that of an American Pastor in Belmopan. Police were not willing to give any information or interviews today but could be seen processing the scene at the home where the crime happened. What we have been able to gather through our own investigation is that two men entered the house wearing masks and camouflage clothing. They entered the couple’s home armed with guns. In the home at the time were the Pastor, his wife, and another person. The men tied them up and began to ransack the house taking jewellery, undisclosed sum of money, a 40” flat screen TV, two laptop computers, drills, a circular saw and other tools. The men then took the stolen items and loaded up the Pastor’s Hyundai Santa Fe vehicle; but before they left, one female was raped. The men then left in the Caldwell’s vehicle. Later today, sometime around noon, the stolen vehicle was found abandoned some two miles off the Valley of Peace road. The truck was empty of all of the items stolen and when our crew got on the scene police scenes of crime personnel were on site processing the vehicle for fingerprints and any other clues that could led them to the culprits. Police also found a motorcycle that appeared brand new in the same area of the vehicle and police believe that the motorcycle was also stolen and is linked to this m
orning’s crime. As we’ve said, Police have been tightlipped so far about any details or possible leads. Meanwhile, PlusNews understands that the person who was sexually assaulted was taken to the Western Regional Hospital but up to four hours later had not received attention and remained with evidence on her because no gynecologist was available. We will keep following this story as any developments occur.
