Well I was called and the fire was burning around 10:45 because I had just left like an hour ago and when I came back I just found the whole house down. I don’t really know much because I wasn’t here.

Daniel Ortiz:
You said from the distance from where you were, not only could you smell it, you also heard the explosion?

Corlen Gomez:
Yes, I heard a loud noise go ‘boom’

Daniel Ortiz:
And you suspect that to be?

Corlen Gomez:
One of the little gas tank stove, that is what I think made the noise.

Daniel Ortiz:
Have you lost everything?

Corlen Gomez:
Everything, I wasn’t here and I just washed yesterday and everything is just gone, just like that, clothes, chair, everything.

According to Mr Gomez he will just have to rebuild and move on.

Corlen Gomez:
I’m thinking to try and get help from somewhere and just get more board and build another house and start over again and just don’t let this mistake happen again.

Daniel Ortiz:

And you don’t believe you left a candle on or anything like that?

Corlen Gomez:
Nothing was on, I believe someone burnt it.

Daniel Ortiz:
You think it’s arson?

Corlen Gomez::
Someone burnt it.

Daniel Ortiz:
Do you have any kind of ‘beef’ with anybody lately that you would think?

Corlen Gomez:
No kind of beef, the only beef I have right now is baby-mama drama.

Daniel Ortiz:
Are you looking at that possibility?

Corlen Gomez:
It could be, I’m not sure – I don’t want to point because I’m not sure but eventually I will find out what happened but I won’t worry about that – I won’t let that bring me down because I still have my life.

Cornel Gomez estimates his loss at approximately $3,000. He can be contacted at 663-9388 for offers of assistance.
