Inmate DID hang himself, according to post mortem


A postmortem examination has confirmed that 29-year-old Luis Antonio Magana, Belizean driver of Trial Farm Village, Orange Walk District died of asphyxia due to hanging. As we told you yesterday, police were investigating the death of Magana after he was found hanging in a cell in the Orange Walk police station. On Friday the 17th of June at 1:15 a.m, Magana’s body was discovered by a police officer who was making his rounds and saw Magana’s body hanging from a piece of cloth which was tied to a bar of the cell with a brown belt tied around his neck. Magana was only detained one day before the incident, on the 16th of June, as result of a report made against him by his wife.
