Joint Law Enforcement Operation Conducted in Chiquibul

According to a press release issued by the Belize Defence Force this morning, the purpose of the operation was to quote, “deter, detect, and where appropriate detain persons reasonably believed to be engaged in activities which contravene our forestry and immigration laws.

During the operation a total of 15 fields of pumpkin, 6 fields of corn, 2 fields of beans and two fields of containing sweet potatoes, cassava, plantain, and bananas were discovered and destroyed. Along the border, several other recent clearings were discovered and recorded.
