There was an armed robbery in the Ladyville area on Tuesday of this week where two men went to rob a teenager while he was at the Ladyville basketball Court.
Well, the armed robbery almost turned fatal for one of the robbers, who we understand may have been shot allegedly by his partner in crime.
While that is still one angle being investigated by police, the minor’s partner in crime has been identified as 27-year-old Mason Patnett, a well know criminal figure who once lived in Ladyville but is now residing in Belize City.
This evening, only Patnett was arraigned on two criminal offenses of robbery with a firearm, upon 18-year-old Ladyville resident, Marvin Martinez and conspiracy to commit robbery.
That’s because the partner in crime, a 17-year-old minor remains hospitalized at the KHMH under police guard after he was allegedly shot during the robbery.
On Tuesday, May 20, 2014, Marvin Martinez, was robbed at gunpoint of his bicycle and $150.00 0 in cash. Police they their robbery suspects are Patnett and the 17-year-old minor.
Due to the nature of the offense, Patnett was denied bail and remanded to the Belize Central Prison until June 24, 2014.
Mason Patnett has several charges before the court including attempted murder, aggravated assault with a firearm and several drug trafficking related offenses. At the time of this incident, he was out on bail for one of those offenses.
