Leshawn Lino acquitted of murder of common-law partner

vlcsnap-2013-05-17-20h37m36s8026 year old Leshawn Lino of Ladyville, accused of manslaughter in the death of her common-law husband and former BDF soldier 23 year old Shamir Henry in September of 2010, was acquitted late last night in the court of Justice Adolph Lucas. Lino was accused of slicing Henry’s throat, but in court it was revealed that her relationship with Henry was abusive and she testified that on the day of the stabbing itself he had been beating her and had produced a knife, apparently to stab her. There was a subsequent struggle but she told the court she did not know how Henry got stabbed, and denied that she did it.  The jury believed her and acquitted Lino of the charge.
