12 days after his being shot and still clinging to life, police have charged the man they believe shot Clifford Anderson, 26, on July 8. 24 year old Luis Kerr a labourer of Fabers Road, Belize City, appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann-Marie Smith on charges of attempted murder, dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm with a firearm upon Clifford Anderson. Due to the nature of the offenses, no bail could be granted to Kerr who was remanded into custody at the Belize Central Prison until October 20, 2016. The Chief Magistrate ordered that disclosure be given to him by October 20, 2016 and his Preliminary inquiry is tentatively set for November 30, 2016. Anderson was shot as he walked through an alley near the basketball court on Neal’s Pen Road by a lone gunman. Anderson was hit in the back, his lower back and the gunshot caused damages to his internal organs and he had to undergo surgery. At last report Anderson was progressing some but still needed another surgery and blood to keep stable.
