According to reports, 26 year old Eder Alcoser, labourer of Caledonia village, visited a local Chinese store at around 9:00 pm on Sunday, May 25th where a fight ensued between him and David Rosales of the same village.
Officer in Command of Corozal Police Station ASP Daniel Arzu told us more.
“Information is that sometime between 9:00 p.m. the very same day, at their village, Caledonia, Eder was at a Chinese store when he had some misunderstanding with David Rosales. During the process of their misunderstanding, Elias Rosales and Perfecto Rosales Jr. arrived, the brothers of David, and it was then that all three engaged in machete fight and Eder sustained the injuries. Also, Marcelo Acoser, his father arrived, and when trying to diffuse the fight, he also sustained injuries and also he himself inflicted injuries on David Rosales”.
Eder Alcoser received a large cut wound to the left side of the abdomen and multiple injuries to his arms, legs and across his face. He was taken to the KHMH but succumbed to his injuries along the way.
His father, Marcelo Alcoser, a farmer of Caledonia village, also received injuries. He was taken to the Northern Regional Hospital where he has since undergone surgery. We were told however that he is expected to recover.
“Now, police are conducting their investigation. In our custody, we have Elias Rosales, 31 years old, Perfecto Rosales, 34 years old, and David Rosales under police guard at the Northern Regional Hospital in Corozal Town”.
Reporter: “Have any been charged as yet?”
ASP Daniel Arzu: “We are hoping to lay charges on them sometime this afternoon”.
According to sources, a long standing dispute, may have contributed to the fiery altercation.
