Police are gaining some ground and have made their first arrest in connection with the double murder that occurred on Friday the 19th of May at the residence of Laura Lambert in Pineapple Hill area, Teakettle Village. The victims were American Nationals Julian Christopher Jones and Paul David Signorino. Jones had been hacked to death and Signorino was shot twice to the head. Police have not established a motive for the killing however, police found that the house and both vehicles that were parked in the yard were ransacked. Furthermore, Julian Jones’ licensed 9 mm pistol and point 22 rifles were missing. Police have not made any arrests for the double murder, however, one person has been charged for burglary of the premises.Today, 18 year old Shaylon Santos, a Belizean Carpenter of Teakettle Village, appeared before chief Magistrate Aretha Ford in Belmopan where he was arraigned for charges of burglary. He was accused of entering the premises of Laura Lambert and stealing a 9 mm pistol and a point 22 rifle allegedly belonging to Julian Christopher Jones. Shaylon Santos pled not guilty to the charges but was remanded to prison until August 24th after he was denied bail.
