PLUS News today happened on a strange occurrence in Belize City – a man who was thought to be dead, is alive! But it’s not quite how that sounds. 31 year old Leonel Ramos of Central American Boulevard was out socializing on Monday night at a local Chinese shop near Tibruce Street around 11:00 p.m. according to unconfirmed reports reaching PLUS News. We are informed that he was last seen with another man who lives nearby in the area and appeared to be healthy. However, this morning around eight, police were called to respond to what they were told was a dead body in the Tibruce Street area with apparent chop wounds. A resident reportedly discovered Ramos’ assumed lifeless body in an open lot surrounded by three houses near Tibruce Street. But when police arrived and checked the body, Ramos responded and was well enough to get into the police vehicle to be taken to hospital. He had apparently been badly beaten in the face sustaining bruises and there was evidence of bleeding from his head which had dried up sometime in the night. PLUS News arrived on the scene to find police carting Ramos off and we trailed them to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where Ramos was admitted for treatment. Police investigations continue into this incident.
