Man crashes into police vehicle

On Saturday in Corozal, a man crashed into the back of a police vehicle. Sometime after 6 pm,  Corozal Police were conducting village patrol along with OC Corozal and Corozal QRT in a Police marked vehicle, travelling from Copper Bank Village. When the police unit reached a mile out of Copper Bank, heading towards the pueblo Nuevo Ferry,  a grey Dodge Ram, traveling from behind, collided to the rear of the Police vehicle.

The police driver approached the Dodge Ram and reported a strong aroma of alcohol on the breath of the driver of the dodge ram. The driver and the vehicle were escorted to the Corozal Police Station.

The driver of the vehicle was a 26 year old Belizean Security Guard of Chunox Village, Corozal District ,who is not the holder of a driver’s license.

The Dodge Ram pickup was impounded and a blood sample was taken from the driver who was detained pending traffic offences.
