The family of Peter Reimer is mourning the ill-timed death of the 14 year old. While working at Camp 9 in Shipyard, Mr Reimer fell into a stone crusher that quickly mangled his body. Peter Reimer has been employed at the site for about a year and due to his age, was stationed outside the danger zone and tasked with ensuring that the crusher works properly. And in fact, manning the machine was the duty of a veteran operator. But according to reports, on Thursday morning, that operator briefly left his station and that was when Mr Reimer decided to load the excavator bin on his own. He did so, but upon leaving the area, he jumped from one end of the machine to the other and that was when he slipped and fell into the crusher. A 12 year old boy who was with him at the time, quickly stopped the machine and ran to get help, but it was too late. Peter Reimer’s remains were later removed from the machine.
