Man remanded after threatening bus driver with a gun

vlcsnap-2013-09-04-07h26m42s38Gunplay between a truck driver and a bus driver early Tuesday morning in the streets of the old capital ends up in court. 35-year-old Jose Recardo Hernandez, a driver and resident Belize City was summoned before Magistrate Leslie Hamilton on a single charge of aggravated assault with a firearm arm. According to Police reports, at about 7:15 this morning, Hernandez who was driving a dump truck was involved in a collision with a bus driver on Central American Boulevard. Jose Hernandez reportedly jumped out of his dump truck armed with a black firearm in his right hand. Witnesses say he cranked his gun and charged toward the bus. Little did he know, Police Officers were on-board and they managed to subdue Mr Hernandez. The truck driver was unrepresented in court who was unrepresented, pleaded not guilty to the charge but due to the nature of the offense, he was not granted bail, but instead remanded to the Belize Central Prison. His next court date is 3rd October.
