vlcsnap-2014-08-08-19h44m16s0Nigel Murray will spend the next three years in jail after being found guilty of drug trafficking today by Chief Magistrate Ann-Marie Smith. He was fined $10,000 of which $5,000 was ordered to be paid immediately, but he could not come up with the money, and so began a default 3-year prison sentence. On December 28, 2012, police executed a search warrant at his Raccoon Street Extension, Belize City,  residence and found 650 grams of cannabis stored in three separate black plastic bags contained in a larger transparent plastic bag. Nigel Murray claimed the house is for his mother who resides in the United States, and that he was not the only person at home at the time of the search.
