Man Survives Shooting

vlcsnap-2014-06-16-19h20m49s189Police are investigating three shooting incidents in Belize City over the weekend. The first took place around 9:12 p.m. on Friday when construction worker 40 year old Walter Beaton, was riding on Kraal Road headed toward Fabers Road.

At the corner with Ross Pen Road, he was approached from behind by a dark-skinned, also on bicycle, who pointed a firearm at him and opened fire, twice hitting him to the left hand.

Beaton jumped off his bicycle and ran through the Wilton Cumberbatch Field, successfully getting away from his attacker, who turned back toward Guerrero Street.

Beaton was treated at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.  Meanwhile, police may later tell if the said victim’s attacker made good his escape.
