Mango shooting” is manslaughter, shooter to be tried

A businessman of the Ladyville area accused of fatally shooting and killing a 60 year old Senior citizen who picked some of his mangoes must stand trial at the Supreme Court this year for manslaughter. 48 year old Hilberto Perez was told this morning by Chief Magistrate, Anne Marie Smith that a prima facie case had been establish against him for the offense of manslaughter. He makes his first appearance at the Supreme Court on June 21, 2016.   Perez was granted and met bail of 10 thousand dollars.  On Monday, May 9, Perez, under the advice and directives of the DPP’s office was charged with manslaughter and not murder.    Reports are that on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at around 9:00 a.m., Trapp was vlcsnap-2016-04-21-10h15m33s716seen walking on Perez Road when he stopped by a family friend, to pick up mangoes, but he never had to chance to eat the fruits because he was fatally shot.    Reports are that as he was picking up the mangoes and some pieces of iron on Hilberto Perez’s compound he was allegedly shot by Perez.
