Mark King appeared in Corozal court

Suspended Minister of State in the Ministry of Human Development, Social Transformation & Poverty Alleviation, and cabinet member, 38 year old Mark King stood on the witness dock inside the courtroom today, where he was formally read charges of a criminal nature in a recent border incident against Corozal Police Constable Nelson Ramos. Presiding Magistrate Clive Lino formally read him the offenses of 1) Committing aggravated assault against Police Constable Nelson Ramos 2)  Disorderly conduct 3) Using threatening words against Police Constable Nelson Ramos and 4) Unlawful assault to Police Officer. The fourth charge of unlawful assault were withdrawn by the prosecution for reasons that were not explained. Mark King pleaded not guilty to all charges and was represented by counsel. He met bail in the sum of $4,000.00 BZC and one surety. The threatening words used by Mark King to P.C. Nelson Ramos were and we quote “I feel like shoot you with me gun right now” Mark King is to appear back in court on April 16th, 2013.
