Harry Arzu – Dangriga Correspondent:
A team of medical practitioners are currently providing free medical health care services for the residents of Dangriga and the rural communities of the Stann Creek District. I caught up with the team leader earlier today at the Southern Regional Hospital, where a large number of people were registering in a effort to get medical attention.
Cindy Gordon, who is a registered nurse in the USA, said that the team of medical practitioners are providing the free medical care on their own volition, and are happy just to just help heal the people of this District. Gordon also said that as part of their team there are specialists such as gynecologists, cardiologists, dentists, and general practitioners, who are treating patients with various types of illnesses.
The medical team that came from Rochester, New York, USA, will be holding medical clinics until Friday of this week. Gordon also said that they intend to attend to at least close to a thousand people.
