Methodist High School Inaugurates 2nd Form Classrooms

In August of 2013, the Belmopan Methodist High School, located at Price Center Road, Belmopan, had its first intake of first form students while the school went under construction. The plan was to expand the school so that each year they have room to accommodate a new class level until they have room for first, second, third, and fourth form classrooms.

On Wednesday the school officially inaugurated its second form building.

“We were sitting right over there, where the Principal’s office is, and there was a tent like this and balloons and lots of people, but no students.  There was a stick in  the ground, and I talk about this story all the time, and I know that I have shared this with you.  That stick in the ground -we broke ground that day.  Reverend Papouloute and Reverend Goff were here with me.  It was a joy that day, knowing that God was going to do an awesome work.

Like the parable of the sower, we were seeing rocky ground, and we were seeing thorny ground, as we began to prepare the ground.  But that day we knew that God was with us and the ground here was going to be fertile soil, and that God would grow up people of faith, and those people would be you.”

“After days of anxiety, weeks of anxiety, that moved into months of anxiety, we are integrating our second form classrooms.  What a blessing.

I recall being in Board Meetings and wondering and discussing how to get things going, but we never doubted it would happen.  It was just a matter of how  and when.”

“As we sat and made plans for this High School, one of the members of that committee said, ‘We don’t simply want to build a High School, but we want to build a first-class High School.’  She had her own way of explaining what a first-class High School would be.

As I sat here this morning, I said to myself, ‘There’s no doubt that we are on our way of making Belmopan Methodist High School a first-class High School.’ ”

The school continues expansion to have room for third form students in the next school year.
