One person was charged today for the murder of 24 year old Dernell Brown but we will refrain from using his name because he happens to be a minor. As we reported earlier this week, on Saturday May 2nd sometime around 10 in the evening Dernell Brown got into an altercation with some individuals at the Agriculture and Trade Show which resulted in him being stabbed in the head. Eyewitnesses report that the knife went in so deep that Brown had to be transported to the hospital with the knife still lodged in his head. Dernell Brown succumbed to his injuries on Monday May 4th. Investigators have since zeroed on a 16 year old minor of Roaring Creek Village whom they believe inflicted the fatal injury. As a result he was charged today on one count of murder. The 16 year old minor will remain in police custody until Monday May 11th when he is to be arraigned at the Belmopan Magistrate’s court. As for a motive for the fatal stabbing of Dernell Brown, police suspect that the fatal stabbing resulted from a dispute over a female.
