Mr. Edward Buller Retried for the Death of Ms. Ella Mae Bennett

vlcsnap-2014-03-05-21h25m52s145 52 year old Edward Buller will be retried for the death of Ella Mae Bennett in the Supreme Court after the Court of Appeal struck down his conviction for manslaughter and 16-year prison sentence this morning.

Buller was acquitted of murder but convicted of manslaughter in September of 2011 for Bennett’s death in June of 2009.

Ms. Bennett, a Honduran national, was found partially nude with several cut wounds and an Courtirregular fracture wound to the head at an abandoned house on Central American Boulevard.

Mr. Buller and Ms. Bennett were acquaintances and last seen together.  Mr. Bennett told police under caution that they had an argument and he pushed her and she fell to the ground, hitting her head but at the trial, speaking from the dock, he said he was at home and nowhere near the crime scene.

Mr. Buller denied ever giving the statement and alleged he was simply handed something to sign.
