Murder in Concepcion

Ricardo Alfredo Itzab, A 24 years old Belizean unemployed man of Concepcion Village, Corozal, was gunned down on Saturday in the wee hours of the morning.

Initial police investigations revealed that sometime around 1:00 am and 1:30 am on Saturday November 1st, Ricardo Itzab and two others of the same village were walking between miles 76 and 77 on the Philip Goldson Highway heading home, when they were approached from the opposite direction by a lone vlcsnap-2014-11-04-04h55m42s178bicycle rider, wearing dark clothing and a mask over his face. The masked rider reportedly fired several shots in their direction fatally wounding Mr Itzab.

Ricardo Itzab was rushed to the Corozal Community Hospital, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the right chest area, and an exit wound to the left lower back. He was later transported to the Northern Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at around 4:45 am.

Police continue investigations continue.
