Mahogany Heights, a village located between Belize City and Belmopan, is a quiet community. However, the relative tranquility has been disturbed by the shooting death of 25 year old Kenroy Parham.
Reports are that sometime between the evening of Friday November 28th and Saturday Morning, resident’s of Mahogany Heights woke up in the dead of the night to the sound of gunshots that many mistook for pop shots, which is common in the community especially during this time of the year. The reality was however, that Kenroy Parham was shot dead somewhere near the mechanic’s shop.
Police report that they have one person detained in connection of the murder, and are looking for another as investigations continue. The motive of the incident is still not known at this time.
Of note is that the last reported murder in the community was in July of 2008.
