Orange Walk Police are still trying to piece together the timeline of events leading to the murder of 57 year old businessman Ricardo Triminio, who was murdered inside his snack shop sometime after midnight on Tuesday March 31st. Ricardo owns a small shop called Munchis Snack Shop located inside his property at number 10 B Progresso Street, in Orange Walk Town. When police were called to the scene at around 10 am they observed a bullet hole on the fiber glass window. Triminio was shot multiple times on the face, chest and arms. Our colleagues at CTV3 spoke to Assistant Superintendent Selvin Tillett, Deputy Officer Commanding Orange Walk Police Station.
ASP Selvin Tillett – Deputy OC, Orange Walk Police
“Monchi’s Snack Shop, where upon arrival we saw what appeared to be a lifeless body of a male person lying face up in the shop. He was later identified as one Ricardo Triminio, of the same address. He had what appeared to be gunshot wounds to his face, his chest, left and right shoulder and left arm. Police found 5 expended shells and 4 slugs at the scene.”
According to relatives, they heard the gun go off several times but they did not think the gunshots were that close to the house. Relatives say the snack shop would usually be opened until late in the night. Yesterday they woke up to the sight of the lifeless body of Ricardo Triminio lying face up inside the shop. Notably, nothing was stolen from the snack shop. The body of Triminio now lies at the Northern Regional Hospital Morgue awaiting a post-mortem examination. Police investigations continue.
