Belmopan police rushed to the National Bank of Belize on Forestry drive sometime around 8 o’clock this morning in response to a bank robbery alarm. We were also called and left immediately but by the time we got there, everything was already quiet and seemed to be business as usual. According to the Bank Security guard that we spoke to, there was indeed an alarm set off this morning. Apparently, an employee accidentally triggered the silent alarm, and that in turn triggered the frenzied police response. However, all was well and once that was verified and the alarm system was reset, it was back to regular banking business.
