New City Administrator for Capital City

The Belmopan City Council has a new City Administrator and he is not an unfamiliar face.

In August, Angela Wade, the former City Administrator, tendered her resignation due to health complications.

Plus News has since been informed that Dr. Geraldo Flowers has been chosen to be the new City Administrator.

Dr. Flowers holds a PhD and a Masters in Public Administration and has done significant work in Strategy Formulation and Implementation. He was also the National Consultant for development of a National Information and Communication Technology Strategy for the country of Belize, Ministry of Public Service of Belize from 2011.

From 2008 to 2011 Dr. Flowers was the National Consultant for the development of the National Plan of Action for the implementation of the Inter-American Convention against corruption. Dr. Flowers was also the Vice president of the University of Belize, and taught Public Policy and Strategic Management at UB.

He is scheduled to officially take office on November 1st.
