A Pawn shop on Chatuye Street in Dangriga Town was robbed. On Wednesday 14th June at 3:00 p.m., 29-year-old Felecita Murcia, the cashier at Southern Quick Loan, was at the business place when a male person entered the office and took off with over $3000 worth of cash and valuables. Harry Arzu, Dangriga Correspondent: An employee of a popular pawn shop located in the… area here in Dangriga was robbed at gunpoint in front of her 6 year old child. The incident occurred in broad day light around 3 o’clock in the evening yesterday. Reports say, that a lone gunman entered the business establishment and pointed a gun at the employee and demanded money. Fearing for her life, she gave him $400 but obviously he was not satisfied. As a result, the perpetrator searched the premises and make good with his escape with an assortment of jewelry’s: a white laptop computer, smart and digicell phones, and among other items with a total value of $5000. Due to quick police responds and wisty assistance of some members in this community, the culprit was caught shortly with the items, some of the cash and a 9mm pistol. He was expected to be charged for robbery and possibly for another that was recent committed here in town.
Police say they have since apprehended 34-year-old Bruce Harvey of Belize City and recovered the stolen items along with a black 9mm pistol with a magazine containing (10) live rounds.
