Placencia Village in the Stann Creek District made it to the Guiness Book of records for having the world’s narrowest street. Well, those “streets”, which are really sidewalks, were lined this weekend with some of Belize’s most beautiful works of art.
The village of Placencia, in an effort to boost the economies of artists in the area, hosted its annual sidewalk art fest on Saturday and Sunday.
While food and music are an important part of the event, it is all about the art work in the form of paintings, sculptures, handcrafted baskets, jewelry, sewn and embroidered art work and other creative expressions. Placencia Art Fest 2014 marked the tenth year of this event.
