Today, following the United Democratic Party’s third consecutive win, the leader of the party, Hon. Dean Oliver Barrow, was sworn in as Prime Minister of the country for the third consecutive term. The swearing in ceremony happened this afternoon at around 3:00 pm at the Governor General’s house in Belmopan. While the Belize Press office and Love Fm were present during the swearing in ceremony, Plus TV was not allowed inside. Our reporter was ordered by the Deputy Commissioner of Police ACP Russell Blackette to not even approach the gate. We waited outside where we were only able to catch a glimpse as the newly sworn in Prime Minister was carted away. The area representatives who will form the next cabinet are expected to be sworn in early next week.
