PM responds to criticisms of CARICOM secretariat

The Caribbean Single Market Economy’s aim is to integrate CARICOM member states into a single unit in order to make the region a more powerful presence on the global stage. Earlier this month, Caribbean officials convened in Guyana for consultation aimed at making CSME more effective and efficient. However, since the implementation of CSME’s goal in 2006, the CARICOM Secretariat has been criticized for not achieving those goals fast enough.
