Police have made some more arrests in the case of the Corozal Free Zone robbery of hundreds of thousands of dollars, which took place on Monday of last week. On Friday of last week, 21-year-old Benigno Loria was charged for the crime of “Conspiracy to commit Robbery”.
He is now beig joined by 22-year-old Israel Rancharan of Venezuelan Site, Corozal Town who is also facing the charge of Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, and for the actual charge of robbery, police have arrested and charged 26-year-old Hector Kelly of Halls Layout, Corozal Town and 18-year-old Zandon Myers of 4th Avenue, Corozal Town.
The robbery occurred on Monday the 24th February, when 48 year old Ricardo Villasenor, a Mexican businessman, was taking over one million pesos or over two hundred thousand Belize dollars to his car. There were two culprits; one with a knife and the other with a hammer.
After taking the money, the robbers pushed Mr. Villasenor into the trunk of the car. Police had said the incident was caught on surveillance camera.
