Police impersonators caught in uniform and with gun

Police have arrested two persons found impersonating police officers.  21 year old Tyron Smith, a resident of St. Matthew’s Vilage, and 21 year old Dorian Blair of Belize City were both spotted by actual police officers on Ebony Strreet in Belize City.  On Thursday April 21., while police were conducting mobile patrol on Ebony Street, Belize City their attention was drawn to the two men  both wearing police trousers, but acting suspiciously.  Police then conducted a search on the men and found a  black .38 special revolver containing (6) .38 live rounds tucked in the waist of  Tyron Smith’s trousers. 21-year-old Tyron Smith and 21-year-old Dorian Blair were both arrested and charged with “False Pretense of an Officer” while Tyron Smith was additionally charged for the offence of “Kept Firearm and Ammunition without a gun License”. The two were arraigned in court today and were also charged with aggravated burglary when they appeared today before the Chief Magistrate, Ann-Marie Smith. The aggravated burglary occurred on April 8. According to the allegation, they entered as trespassers the dwelling house of Mary Avila, located in Buttonwood Bay, while armed with a firearm. They reportedly stole several electronic equipment, liquor and $1,300 US currency.
