Pre-School Stimulation Month kicks off with a parade

Every year in the month of March, pre-schools all across the country celebrate child simulation month organized by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports through its Early Childhood Unit. This year is no different as pre-schools and kinder gardens celebrate child stimulation month under the theme “Learn early-learn for life!” In Belmopan the series of activities scheduled for this month kicked off today with a March that began at the steps of the National Assembly and ended at the Sir George Brown field in East Ring Road.

“The month of March is set aside as Child Stimulation Month.  [There are] several activities gearing to sensitize the public of the importance of early childhood.

Yesterday we began with a church service at different churches.  Each Pre-School sought out a particular church, and then they were invited to a church service, and then the Opening Parade.

We had 14 schools showing up today.”

The set of activities are geared towards encouraging parents to send their children to pre-school though it’s not mandatory.
