Professional cyclist knocked down by bus

A young professional cyclists was knocked down by a bus yesterday, Wednesday January 27. 16-year-old Shakille Tillett of Camalote Village vlcsnap-2016-01-29-11h10m44s282,professionally for cycling team WKC Strikers and was onthe road on his bicycle sometime around 10 o’clock yesterday morning. When he vlcsnap-2016-01-29-11h10m52s761approached mile 11 on the George Price Highway, a BBOC passenger bus knocked him down and the young mad had to be rushed to the hospital.  We spoke with Admiral John Borland representing Team Digicell who was out on the scene looking after the interests of the second cyclist who was riding with Tillett. The highways are the training grounds for Belize’s cyclists; a sad reality that poses a danger to the cyclists and sometimes, a nuisance to drivers. Borland spoke to the dangers that the cyclists face. Teh bus driver has since been served with a notice of intended prosecution.
