Over nineteen thousand dollars were stolen from a Belize City Project Manager while he was on his way to leave pay roll at his work site. 35 year old Jaime Dominquez reportedly left his worksite in Belama Phase 2 around 3 p.m. on Friday en route to Bella Vista. On his way, he picked up his 59 year old mother in the Bella Vista area. While attempting to drive off, a gray four door Ford Explorer overtook him on his left hand side and cut off his driving lane. Inspector Alejandro Cowo tells us what happened next

Alejandro Cowo, Head of NCIB: On Friday just after 3:00pm, a Project Manager with Ushers Construction , Mr. Imay Dominguez had just collected $18,000 from the company and was going to an area in Belama to do payroll. And whilst travelling on Apollo Street, he stopped to pick up his mother and as he was driving off, a vehicle that is grey in colour just blocked his way. Four persons came out of the vehicle and held him at gun point, the four of them were armed with guns. They opened the door of the vehicle and stole the bag containing the $18,000 and other personal items belonging to him and his mother and they made, then they made good their escape. At this moment, we don’t have any suspect but we are looking at one of the groups that is causing the robberies within the city as they could be our suspect.
. According to Cowo, Dominquez and workers at the Construction firm and the Construction site have been questioned. Police are investigating
