Protest outside Supreme Court, as gay rights lawsuit takes place

This morning the UNIBAM case resumed for its final day of presentations. The case has attracted its fair share of attention and today a single protestor hit the streets to make his opposition to changes in Section 53 known. John Brackett tells us why he is opposed.

John Brackett – Protester:
vlcsnap-2013-05-10-18h58m16s203The reason for that is because after Independence we have received this Constitution and it is good for us and vital for us in this manner.  I believe that any changes would be a plus to the homosexual world, and this is what we don’t want.  We already have a lot of rights.  We have the right to move around freely, the right to associate, the right to have a job.  We have a right to be paid for the job that we have done. We have the right to associate with anyone we want.  We have the right to live. I mean, we don’t want any changes to the Constitution, especially to section 53 of our Constitution.

Mr Brackett also says  it is unfair of the claimant, Caleb Orozco, to compare the plight of homosexuals with that of slaves, as he did earlier this week.

John Brackett – Protester:
It was very unfair. He made a lot of unfair comparisons, like in the Jim Jones case and all that he have mentioned on the news last night.  Now what we need to look as a nation, what we need to look upon is the Bible, the Truth, the Word of God.  Leviticus 20:13, the year that we are living in, look at it.  “If a man also lie with mankind as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed abomination.  They shall be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.  20:13, the year we live in, out with abomination. He and he attorneys, we no di accept they ina Belize.  We don’t want no changes.

A by-stander, Mr. Reynolds, also spoke out.

Mr. Reynolds – Protester:
vlcsnap-2013-05-10-19h17m41s54Guess what. God will destroy this land if we encourage this type of stupidity.  People forget Sodom and Gomorrah, what God did to homosexuality.  This is wrong.  Paul talks about this.  It’s serious and I know Mr Dean Barrow is a better man.  I know he’s a good man, and i know that he’s not going to encourage homosexuality in our country. No to homosexuality.  Leave that in San Francisco. Carry that somewhere else, not our new country. Enough is going on here.  Satan is already raging here. We don’t want to see men holding hands together, kissing up each other.  we don’t want to see woman and woman.  The Bible says that in the last days these things will happen.  That men would be lovers of themselves. Women would be lovers of themselves. No homosexuality in our country,
