PUP debate called off

The PUP debate between those three men seeking leadership of the blue party has been called off. The debate was to be held on January 28, a few days before the national convention to chose the PUP leader. Organizer of the debate, Glenn Tillett, issued a press release today saying quote “After due consideration, the planning and coordination committee has decided to cease all efforts to organize a debate between the three aspirants for the post of Party Leader.” Those three men are Johnny Briceno, Cordell Hyde, and Francis Fonseca. Tillet’s release says   “Two of the candidates failed to respond to formally inform the committee of their intention to appear as scheduled by the close of business late yesterday.” End quote.. The PUP national convention is set for January 31st in Belmopan.
